Guidelines for Authors

Indonesian Mathematical Society Journal on Mathematics Education (IndoMS-JME)

Published two times a year: January and July

 

  • Articles written in IndoMS-JME cover all of the thinking or research findings in the field of mathematics education which have not been published yet in the other media. Authors are suggested to send their articles in the PDF or Word form. All of the articles will be reviewed and if necessary, the authors will be asked to revise based upon the editor’s work. Editor Board have their right only to make simple correction relating to the words.
  • Articles written in English, where the abstracts should be in two languanges, Indonesian and English. Articles written in English follow the roles in APA style. The way in writing citation, references, table, and picture can directly follow the way that has been used in the published articles.
  • The rules of research-based articles are: title (maximum 10 words); author’s name (without academic degree); abstract (maximum 150 words) consists of goals, method, and research finding; key words (3-5 phrases); introduction (without subtitle) consists of background, a little bit about references, and goals of research; method; results and discussion; conclusion and suggestion; references (only type the sources that have been taken into the articles).
  • The manuscripts written in Times new Roman font, font size 11, with 1,5 lines spacing (single line spacing in abstract), written at A4 paper size with maximum 10 – 15 pages. The files written and save in Microsoft Word. The files can be sent as an attachment of e-mail to these addresses: zulkardi@yahoo.com or w.widjaja@deakin.edu.au.
  • The name of the authors written without academic degrees and followed by the name of their institution, pos address, and e-mail. If the authors consist of 4 persons or more, only the name of the main author will be written in the below of the articles, the others will be placed as a foot note at the first page of manuscripts. In case that the manuscripts written by team, the editor only makes a communication with the main author or the author who his/her name written in the first order.
  • The title of the article written in UPPERCASE in the center, with font size 14 pt and bold. The rank of the subtitle written in different font (all of titles and subtitle written in bold and/or bold italic), and not use numbers at the subtitle.

  • References are published in at least last 10 years. Main references are coming from primer sources such as research reports (include undergraduate thesis, master thesis and dissertation) or research articles in journal and/or scientific magazines especially from our articles.
  • The list of references arranged in the way as this example and organized alphabetically and chronologically (suggested to use APA style) like this example below:

  • All articles send to the editor at least 3 (three) months prior to the 1st day of the month of publication. We employ double blind reviewing, where both reviewers and author(s) remain anonymous throughout the process. Reviewers will be selected based upon their expertise. The Editors will return a paper promptly to its author(s) with comments and suggestions by the referees, often verbatim, to be revised. The Editors are responsible for the final decision whether the manuscripts will be published or rejected and will inform the author(s) on paper or via e-mail.
  • Authors are responsible for all statements made in their work and for obtaining permission from copyright owner(s) regarding HaKI or to use a lengthy quotation (500 words or more) or to reprint or adapt a table or figure published elsewhere for both the print and online format. Any material received without such evidence will be assumed to originate from the authors. The publisher will not be held legally responsible should there be any claims for compensation.
  • Author of published articles will be given publishing numbers as many as 2 (two) copies (for Indonesian Author only). Unpublished articles will be not return except requested by the author.
  • To support the cost of wide open access dissemination of research results, to manage the various costs associated with handling and editing of the submitted manuscripts, and the Journal management and publication in general, the authors or the author’s institution is requested to pay a publication fee for each article accepted. The 150 USD (International Author) and IDR 1.000.000 (Indonesian Author) fee covers the standard twelve (12) pages manuscript. For every additional page an extra fee of 10 USD (International author) and IDR 100.000 (Indonesian Author) per page will be charged. Instructions for money transfer via bank transfer will be provided by the editor with the notification of acceptance for the accepted paper.
